The protection of personal data of both internal and external job applicants is a matter of great importance to BinckBank N.V.  (a public limited liability company incorporated under the laws of the Netherlands, with its registered office and principal place of business in Amsterdam, Barbara Strozzilaan 310, Belgian branch, De Keyserlei 58, 2018 Antwerp hereafter: “BinckBank”). BinckBank collects and processes personal data of job applicants in accordance with the Act on the protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data. This means, for example, that BinckBank will use this information in a fair and lawful manner.
The Privacy Statement which has been drawn up by BinckBank is intended to inform job applicants about how BinckBank collects and processes personal data from both internal and external job applicants in Belgium. To comply with all applicable laws and regulations, BinckBank can at any time and without prior notice, change and/or adjust the Privacy Statement. The modifications and adaptations concerned shall enter into force from the moment they are published on this website. To keep abreast of any changes, it is recommended to visit the Privacy Statement’s website regularly.

BinckBank uses personal information submitted by a job applicant for the sole purpose of facilitating the recruitment and selection process as responsible, effective and efficient as possible. It is possible to apply for both open applications as applications for existing vacancies at BinckBank. Personal information collected and retained by BinckBank will be processed for recruitment purposes only.

These recruitment purposes are: comparing the data of the job applicants with existing vacancies at BinckBank, the communication of the recruitment and selection procedure of BinckBank, scheduling interviews with job applicants, the testing of job applicants in the form of an assessment and informing job applicants about other possible relevant vacancies at BinckBank. The term "process" should be defined as: the collection, transfer, recording, storage, adaption, modification, organization, usage, limitation, search, access, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise, comparison, blocking, destroying and erasing of recruitment data.

Data of job applicants
BinckBank shall collect and process all personal data submitted by the job applicant in accordance with the law  and in proper and careful manner. These data are adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the purpose of recruitment. BinckBank takes the necessary measures to ensure that personal data of applicants is accurate and complete.
BinckBank collects personal data of the job applicants regarding their identity, place of residence, adress, nationality, civil status, e-mail adress, telephone number, education (training, courses, internships, etc.) and employment history (current and previous employer(s), possible references, etc.).

BinckBank does not collect and process sensitive information about job applicants. Examples include: data that reveals the racial or ethnic background, political, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health or sex life of the job applicant.
If under certain circumstances, sensitive information about a job applicant has to be collected or it is volunteered to BinckBank, BinckBank will only process these data with the express written consent of the job applicant. It should be noted that this data will only be collected by BinckBank if it is meant to provide an advantage to the job applicant. Also he will be informed about the reason of the collection of this data beforehand and he will receive a list mentioning the categories of employees of BinckBank who will have access to this data.

Disclosure of personal data of applicants
BinckBank shall under no circumstances make personal data of job applicants available, with the exception of the personal data filled in by the job applicant on the Website,  to third parties, with exception to the party that assists BinckBank with the recruitment process. 
In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, BinckBank can be obligated to make personal data of job applicants available. Within this framework one can think about the obligation to disclose personal data to authorities and/or because of a court order. In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, it can also be necessary that BinckBank will disclose personal data of job applicants, to protect its legal rights.

Retention period of personal data of job applicants
Only if required and in case of a ‘business need”, BinckBank will store the personal data of the job applicants after the recruitment and selection process has ended. A “business need” to keep this data might be the storing of the personal data of the job applicant in case a suitable vacancy arises in the future.
BinckBank stores personal data of applicants for a period of three years. Afterwards, the personal data will be deleted, unless BinckBank has the job applicant’s permission to extend the retention period by one year.

After the expiration of the retention period of personal data of job applicants, the personal data will be removed from the database of BinckBank.

Technical security
BinckBank uses appropriate security technologies to best protect personal data of job applicants against loss, unauthorized access, improper use and all other manner of unlawful processing.
Only employees of BinckBank involved in the recruitment process of job applicants have access to personal data of the job applicants. These employees are required to respect the privacy of job applicants who visit the website of BinckBank. They are also obligated to keep the personal data of job applicants confidential.

Rights of job applicants
A job applicant has the right to access his or her personal data stored by BinckBank. In addition, the job applicant has the right to request BinckBank supplementation, correction, deletion or blocking his or her personal data. BinckBank makes an effort to keep personal data of applicants up to date. In case of modifications in their personal date, applicants are kindly requested to notify these changes to BinckBank in written.
